Vertical Banded Gastroplasty ("Stomach Stapling")

The Vertical Banded Gastroplasty (VBG) is one of a few weight loss operations. People with a serious weight problem; usually morbid obesity and sometimes obesity in general can be surgical candidates. The VBG can be performed both laparoscopic as well as open; but is usually done laparoscopically. The VBG is a restrictive operation for weight loss.
